Orica fined nearly $500k after cyanide breach

Chemical manufacturer Orica has been fined nearly $500,000 after releasing highly toxic cyanide from its Gladstone plant in Queensland. From its Gladstone plant in Queensland, the manufacturer released illegally high amounts of cyanide on over 200 occasions between March 2011 and February 2012.
